It’s time for Harvest….

You know autumn is well and truly here when Harvest Festival time rolls around. This week both Gemma and Jacob have performed in their Harvest festivals, and they both did me proud.

Gemma was a total star – standing up on her own in front of a packed hall and introducing the poem that Year 3 had written – she was very clear and very confident.

Year 3 also performed a selection of harvest and autumn themed songs, including some of my favourites from when I was at school. Anyone else remember ‘Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green’? (Bet you’re singing it now….)

Next up was Jacob’s Harvest festival. He told me in the morning that he was nervous and might be ‘a bit shy’ so I wasn’t expecting too much from him. But, once he was in there, he stood right at the front, waved at me (a lot lol) and sang his little heart out. I loved the songs that Year 1 performed – a real mixture of classics and some new tunes!

Which song is your favourite? I must admit that I have been singing ‘Big red combine harvester’ ever since – it’s very catchy!
Have your children had a harvest festival yet?
