Keep kids active and win £200 Sainsburys vouchers + signed merchandise!

Anyone who follows my blog will know that we are big fans of keeping the kids active. Whether that is an action packed Center Parcs holiday, Gruffalo hunting in the woods or an afternoon at the beach, the children are outside running around as much as possible.

Both myself and Kevin have fond childhood memories of outdoor play, and we want the same for our children. There is so much to explore and discover outside. As the seasons change there are new things to see, new textures to touch, new smells and sights every day. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get any further than the garden some days – there is plenty to do there too, from kicking a ball to planting seeds and jumping in puddles.

The 28th of January marked the launch of Sainsbury’s Active Kids 2015 campaign, which aims to help children lead healthier, more active lifestyles. Running since 2005, the scheme is fronted by three inspirational ambassadors:

  • Premier League footballing ace Daniel Sturridge
  • Swimming legend Ellie Simmonds
  • World record-breaking sprinter Jonnie Peacock

Inspiring young people to take part in sports lies at the heart of the campaign, which aims to encourage 20 million children to enjoy physical activity in this decade. Active Kids has provided over £150 million worth of equipment and experiences. This has given kids all over the UK the opportunity to try out all kinds of activities, including cooking, martial arts and dance. There are so many things your kids can try – check out all the available clubs in your local area! Gemma takes part in Brownies and tag rugby and Jacob enjoys Beavers and football.

You can collect Active Kids vouchers when shopping at Sainsbury’s to donate to your local school or group. These can then be exchanged for an exciting range of active and cooking equipment:  Active Kids vouchers can be collected at all Sainsbury’s stores, petrol stations and when ordering groceries online (you just have to ask the delivery driver!). The vouchers can then be redeemed by schools and groups for a range of cookery and sporting equipment. Participating organisations include primary and secondary schools, Scout and Girlguiding groups as well as sports clubs. One voucher is earned for every £10 spent in a single transaction at Sainsbury’s Supermarkets, and one is earned for every £5 spent in a single transaction at Sainsbury’s Local stores.

To celebrate the recent launch of the Active Kids Campaign, I have teamed up with Sainsburys to offer one lucky reader the chance to win £200 worth of Sainsburys vouchers, as well as a bundle of signed Active Kids merchandise! All you need to do to enter is follow the instructions on the rafflecopter form below – good luck!
