Life stages after graduation

My children are not big enough to be thinking about university and careers yet, but I often wonder about what the future will hold for them. What job will they choose, where will they live, will they have their own families?

You never really think about all the life stages that your children will go through – everything from their first car, their inevitable first loan, the times when they might lose a job, be faced with the loss of a loved one or a divorce, and the happier times when they might get married, have a baby or buy a house. You hope that you will be there to see your children through them all. Financial planning isn’t something we have discussed with our children yet, but we will, we definitely will. It’s so important they know the value of money, and how important it is to budget and save for the future. Maybe one day they will have the same conversation with their own children?

Oooh err hope my house doesn’t get repossessed! We have started teaching ours the value of money early, they get money for doing simple jobs around the house and then get to save it or spend it if they want something. At 3 G is able to know she has saved her money. So important.
