If you are a parent, or expecting a baby, the chances are you will have heard about the Perfect Prep machine. It is raved about at baby clubs, at antenatal classes and at the school gates. I have heard it called ‘the best baby product ever made’. So what’s all the fuss about? Well I had to find out…
The Perfect Prep machine is designed to make a fresh bottle of formula, ready to feed, in less than 2 minutes. Guidelines for making formula now advise that the powder should be mixed with water at a temperature of at least 70*C. This means boiling a kettle, leaving it to cool for no more than 30 minutes and then making up a feed. You can cool down the bottle under the tap to get to the right temperature to feed. Now this is all well and good, but have you ever tried telling a screaming, hungry baby that they have to wait for the kettle to boil and cool before they can have their milk? It doesn’t go down well. So what’s the solution?
The Perfect Prep machine.
To use the machine, simply fill the water tank with tap water. This travels through a filter to remove any impurities and is then ready to make a feed. To make sure we are as ready as can be, we have a sterilised bottle and the correct amount of formula in a Tommee Tippee powder dispenser.
When your baby starts shouting for milk, make sure the dial is set to the correct number of ounces you baby requires and pop your bottle under the water outlet. Hit the big ‘go’ button and a hot shot of water is dispensed. This is the temperature you need to kill off any bacteria present in the formula. Once this has dispensed a buzzer will sound – place the lid on your bottle, shake to fully dissolve the powder, then remove the lid and pop the bottle back under the water outlet. Hit the button again and the rest of the water will be dispensed – meaning your feed is the correct size and the correct temperature to feed your baby straight away. No need to cool down in a jug of water while a baby screams and headbutts your shoulder.
The Perfect Prep machine is ideal for any time of day, but it really comes into its own at night time, when you just want to feed as quickly as possible and snuggle back down under the duvet for a few more hours (hopefully).
I can see why this has been hailed as the best baby product ever invented – for formula feeding mums and dads it really is a lifesaver. There is nothing worse than hearing your baby cry while you desperately try to get a bottle ready – the Perfect Prep machine takes care of that.
We absolutely love our Perfect Prep machine, we even kept it in the bedroom when Aria was feeding during the night, I hardly had to get out of bed to make a bottle up!

we have one, and yes it is the best product ever. Still use it now and I take it everywhere with me that I can plug it in. I wouldn’t be without it and recommend it to anyone and everyone!!

Absolutely love our prep machine. I was far too excited to get it back out the cupboard for baby number 2. We made our first bottle for him with it yesterday and i forgot how much easier it is xx

I can’t get over how good this machine is. We love ours! I’ve timed a bottle from 0 to 5fl.oz to feeding within 2 minutes! Brilliant! Like you say, it makes night feeds a dream!
