Review: Cosatto Giggle 2 travel system with Hold car seat

Cosatto Giggle 2

Back in June, when we found out that our bundle of joy was a little girl, Cosatto got in touch to see if we wanted to try out the new Giggle 2 travel system – and of course I just had to go for the Flamingo Fling!

The Giggle 2 travel system is a 3 in 1 pushchair, designed to last from newborn right through to toddler. There is no need to buy separate strollers or carrycots – the Giggle 2 comes with everything you need to get rolling, including the raincover, footmuff and even a changing bag. If you add in the Hold car seat too, then you have a complete travel system for all eventualities.

We have been using the Giggle 2 in carrycot mode since June, when Eliza made her appearance. The carrycot itself is spacious and deep and protects her from the weather. The mattress included with the carrycot is soft and squishy, providing enough support and comfort for a tiny baby. The interior of the pram is just an amazing burst of colour for Eliza to look at, and as she has got older she has been more and more interested in staring at the Flamingos and trying to touch them.

So what do we love about the Giggle 2 itself? There are many things! As mentioned above, we love the roomy carrycot. The push is smooth and the swivel wheels make it easy to steer. The basket isn’t the biggest I have seen, but it is plenty big enough to carry a bit of shopping, some nappies and wipes and your purse, as well as the folded raincover. The fold is simple too – just remove the carrycot by pushing the blue buttons on the side and lifting the bumper bar. Then you push in a small red button on the chassis at the same time as pulling the trigger levers underneath – it’s very intuitive and the frame folds down on itself in a neat and compact package. There is plenty of room to pop this in the boot and load up the shopping too. I also really rate the adjustable handle that allows me, Kevin and even Gemma to push in comfort.

My only gripe with the carrycot is the hood. It is a decent size, but there is nothing to fix it to the back of the carrycot, so when you pull the hood from the front it comes right up over the carrycot base, leaving a gap at the back by Eliza’s head. It’s not a major issue as you just pull it back down, but it’s a bit annoying.

As well as the Giggle 2, we have been trying out the Hold car seat and Isofix base. I have never had an Isofix base before and I have to say, it’s changed my life! It makes things so much easier, especially in the mornings during the nursery and school rush. I can simply slot the car seat on the base – it clicks and the indicators turn green to show it is secure and off we go. No need to mess about with fiddly seatbelts and worrying that I haven’t pulled them tight enough.

The car seat itself is a joy to use too. Having previously used another brand of infant carrier which never really seemed to ‘fit’ our babies, the Cosatto Hold really suits us. It just seems to be the right shape for Eliza, and she is always comfortable in there, usually falling asleep within minutes. I also love the fact that it can be fixed onto the Giggle 2 frame for a quick whizz round the shops. The fast release buttons mean I can get the car seat on and off the chassis in seconds.

This pushchair and car seat combination has been our most used piece of baby kit so far I think – I use the Hold car seat on a daily basis for the school run and trips to Tesco, and we use the Giggle 2 with the carrycot every weekend for family days out or a walk round the park.

Some people dismiss Cosatto as being style over function – but that is absolutely not the case. The Giggle 2 and Hold car seat are certainly full of style, but are full of practical features too. Everything is designed to make your life as a parent easier, smoother and of course – more fun. I get SO many compliments on this pushchair and car seat, from other parents to health visitors, who all say that they love the fact that an essential piece of baby equipment can be pretty as well as practical. Who could possibly fail to smile pushing this gorgeous Flamingo Fling along with a precious little bundle inside?

This is such a lovely pram, love the flamingos! I’m quite glad that we are almost past the pram/stroller stage entirely, but have to say, I do like the look of this one 🙂 #triedtested

Hurrah for a nice deep carry cot! Especially at this time of year. Isofix really is a game changer isn’t it – I always wish I’d invested from the start.

I’ve had a few over the years – some we still use and some have been given away to friends. In fact, one went to my lovely co-host Colette

What a beautiful pram!I always envy people with colourful/patterned prams. For some stupid reason I got a plain black one when my boy was born..if I ever have another baby I’m getting something like this. Great it is so practical too!xx #TriedTested

Love the print on that pram – just gorgeous. Eliza looks very cosy in the carrycot and the car seat. Isofix bases are brilliant – so easy to get the car seat in and out of the car and it feels so secure too. An adjustable handle is a must-have for us with prams as there is a 15″ height difference between hubby and myself #TriedTested

I just love the style and the colours of this; I don’t see why pushchairs and prams can’t be too stylish! We’ve just gone past the need for pushchairs but this is super stylish – and about time too, is what I say!

I dont need a pushchair, but I love flamingo prints and this one literally jumped out at me when I was scanning through the Tried & Tested reviews! We had a bugaboo when our little one was littler, but Cosatto has definitely been catching my eye over the last year or so with their lovely bold prints. I’ll definitely have to check out their range when number two comes along 😉 Emily #Tried&Tested
