Review: Fisher Price SpaceSaver Jumperoo

Fisher Price SpaceSaver Jumperoo

Eliza is now at the age where she wants to do a bit more. She is happy rolling around on her play mat hitting the toys, or sitting on your lap trying to grab things (mainly my hair) – but she isn’t so keen on sitting in a baby chair. She wants to be playing, seeing and learning new things, but isn’t big enough for a lot of toys just yet. That’s where the Fisher Price SpaceSaver Jumperoo has come in – it is the perfect cross between seat and activity centre.

We had a Jumperoo for Max when he was smaller, and he loved it, but it was just so big and took up a large area of the living room. Even when he wasn’t using it, it was in the way – we were constantly falling over it or catching our legs on the frame. I also have a bit of a thing about tidying the toys away at bedtime so that we have our grown up space back for a few hours – but with the original Jumperoo I couldn’t do that.  The new SpaceSaver Jumperoo solves all these issues. It is a slightly smaller, freestanding frame so doesn’t take up as much room, but the really huge plus point for me is the fact that it can be folded and stashed away at the end of the day – and the fold is super flat, meaning it can easily slot down behind the sofa when not in use.

As well as the obvious bonus of being smaller, portable and easy to fold, the SpaceSaver Jumperoo has a lot of other great features too. It is height adjustable so will grow with Eliza, and the bouncy spring is at the back, covered with a fabric sleeve and well out of reach of little hands. There is a removable toy bar with toys that she can reach up for. Right in front of Eliza, there is a roller ball and rainbow keyboard with lights and sounds that react when she touches them. On the sides of the Jumperoo there is a bobbly frog shaped teether toy, a bar with rings to slide up and down and a clicking turtle to move. Plenty to keep her entertained – she will happily sit in here for 209-25 minutes at a time which is pretty good going for her age. The seat fabric is removable and machine washable too – big points for practicality there.

So would we recommend the SpaceSaver Jumperoo? Without doubt. It has offered us everything we need for this stage and beyond – it gives me a little bit of time without a baby in my arms to get some work done or cook the dinner. It keeps Eliza entertained and therefore she is a much happier baby. It keeps her in a more upright position which is really helpful for her reflux (and that’s where the machine washable seat fabric is handy too!) Because she is upright and at a higher level, the older children can enjoy playing and interacting with her, which is a great bonding experience for them. And because it folds flat, it doesn’t take over my living room and I don’t stub my toe every time I pass. There is nothing at all that we don’t love about it. If you are considering getting one, do. It’s worth every penny.

Oh this brings back memories; my eldest’s (now 11) favourite toy was the Jumperoo as a teeny tot and he was such an active little one it was one of my favourite things too because the only thing that would give me a break from holding him or checking he wasn’t getting into even more mischief!! #TriedTested

L liked jumperoo but not for long, we put it in the corner and it was there for couple of month storing it though was a nightmare, so i like the fact that this one could be folded!
