Review: Dyson V6 Fluffy cordless

Dyson V6 Fluffy

We vacuum the house a lot. With 4 children who love the outdoors, there are always muddy wellies, filthy football boots and dusty trainers on the doorstep, and plenty of mud, grass, dust and outdoor detritus gets dragged into the house, along with coats, bags, lunchboxes and creations from school which leave a trail of glitter and leaves in their wake.

One thing I really hate is having to drag a big, heavy vacuum cleaner out multiple times a day, find somewhere to plug it in that isn’t going to be a trip hazard for toddlers but will still leave me enough cord to reach the top of the stairs. Nightmare. So for us, a cordless cleaner is the answer to all our problems. Enter the Dyson V6 Fluffy.

The big bonus of a cordless vacuum cleaner of course is the fact that it is so easy to move around the house with it. You don’t need to be near a plug socket, you don’t need to keep stopping and moving the lead every time you change rooms. I also love the fact that the Dyson V6 Fluffy is so lightweight – just 2.3kg. This means that I can easily carry it around the house and up and down the stairs. In fact it is so lightweight that even a 2 year old can use it!

As well as being able to use this Dyson as a standard cleaner, you can also slide off the top part to use as a handheld cleaner. This is perfect for the stairs, for the awkward to reach places and for cleaning the car – no more extension leads through windows just to give the car the once over. The Fluffy is also very adept at handling pet hair, and can leave the sofas and furniture fluff free in seconds. If you have a particularly stubborn area to clean, there is a Max power mode – just push the button to select power. This provides 6 minutes of higher suction for more difficult tasks.

The Dyson V6 Fluffy can provide approx 20 minutes of cleaning from one charge. This doesn’t sound a lot, but you can actually achieve quite a decent amount of cleaning in that time. I tend to do the downstairs in the morning and then the upstairs in the afternoon if needed – the charge provided in between is more than enough for this. There is a docking station included so that you can store and charge the vacuum and any attachments in one go. This can be wall mounted, and so frees up floor storage space you might need for other things. It’s so thin and compact too, that it really doesn’t need a lot of space – a nice change from the big chunky upright vacuums we are used to.

So does being cordless mean less power? I am happy to report that isn’t the case at all. The V6 Fluffy is actually more powerful than our previous upright, and seems to handle everything from mud from the football pitch to dog hair and chocolate cake crumbs with ease. The carpets looked so clean after the first use, and it was amazing just how much it picked up from a floor that we thought was relatively clean!

Dyson V6 Fluffy

Would we recommend the Dyson V6 Fluffy? Without a shadow of a doubt. It’s made me day to day life so much easier, especially with small children around. There are no leads to trip over or get tangled up, the vacuum cleaner is so lightweight and easy to transport that going up and down the stairs is much safer, and the removable handheld cleaner makes small jobs simple too. I will never go back to a heavy corded vacuum again. I was worried that the 20 minute run time wouldn’t be enough for a busy family home, but I have actually found it more than adequate as the Dyson cleans faster and more effectively. It’s well worth the money.

I’ve got a handheld vacuum on my list for Christmas (so exciting haha) but I’d love to replace that and our normal.hoover with this! Maybe once we’ve moved and have somewhere to hang it!

That sounds brilliant – I agree that you can do quite a lot of vacuuming in 20 minutes and being lightweight and cordless sounds so much easier than having to drag a heavy vacuum up and down the stairs.

This sounds brilliant and 20 minutes running time would allow me to do the whole house. Having to lump around a heavy corded Dyson is a right pain when I have to manoeuvre around a toddler, baby and dog. I’ll have to remember the Fluffy when our current vacuum cleaner bites the…er, dust #triedtested

This is incredible! Just what I need! We have a bulky massive Dyson at the moment but I literally struggle to get it from room to room and I get really fed up with it! This looks like I could use it whenever and wherever I want. Might have to stick it on the xmas list!! 🙂

I’ve actually fallen down the stairs a couple of times trying to get my Dyson up and down the stairs. Now I rarely take it upstairs so I really need to look into getting one of these.

I was like you, i almost fell over my Henry on the stairs so made me look into getting a lightweight cordless one. Ive just bought the Dyson fluffy and have a small 3 bed house. I can hoover my whole house in one charge it is a fantastic hoover. So easy to use. I have 2 yorkies and my house is now immaculate. It takes minutes now if i want to hoover and no wires making you not think twice about using it. Very simple. Thankyou Dyson.

I have massive cordless envy. Hoovering the stairs is the bane of my life. I’m also constantly hoovering under the dining room table! I’m putting this on my wishlist!

I would like to get a cordless but by Hubby is less than keen! We have a dyson at the moment so this would be a natural extension for us – must try and convince him!! #TriedTested
