A lot of people think that any food done in almost an instant must be a little on the unhealthy side. This includes the “only add boiling water to cook” kinds of food like ramen noodles and even rice-based soup. Admittedly, it isn’t as healthy as natural or organic food, but some instant food do contain vitamins that can help the body. Take for instance instant oatmeal. Oatmeal is the most well-known instant food. People who go on diets or would want to kick-off a healthy lifestyle start with including oatmeal in their meal plan. But if you’re not too confident with easy meals like the oatmeal, here are overnight oats that you can do in a jiff so that you’ll be assured that what you’re eating is healthy.

Classic Oats with Milk

Prepare a bowl and put a few grams of oats in them. You may choose between rolled, steel-cut, or instant. Add your choice of milk. Some prefer skimmed, while others choose low fat or whole milk. Just make sure that the milk is just about covering the oats. After doing this, put a cover on the bowl and keep them in the fridge overnight. The next day, you can eat it as is or you can add your choice of fruit toppings.

Oats with Chia Seeds and Cocoa Powder

This chocolate infused oats is the perfect variation if you want a little more taste and sweetness without sacrificing the health benefits of oatmeal. Make use of rolled oats in this recipe and at least 3 tablespoons of chia seeds. Mashed bananas in a bowl together with the cocoa powder and your choice of sweetener until it looks like paste. If you don’t like alternative sweeteners, muscovado sugar can be a better option than regular white sugar, so are honey and coconut syrup. Then add the oats, the chia seeds, and your choice of milk. Although for this recipe, coconut milk is recommended. Keep in the fridge overnight. You can serve it with berries or chopped nuts.

Superfood Overnight Oats

Spinach and Kale have been considered superfoods because of the amount of vitamins and minerals our bodies can get from just a few servings of it. Now you can add it to your overnight oats! Don’t worry, it doesn’t taste as bad as you think. All you need to do is to choose between spinach and kale, and then blend it together with bananas, chia seeds, and milk. You can choose your preferred milk, but almond milk is recommended. In the bowl, put rolled oats and pour the blended superfood on top. Stir until it is completely combined. Keep it in the fridge overnight, and then add toppings like nuts or bananas when you eat it the next day.

You can prepare these overnight oats recipes in under 5 minutes, perfect for when you get home late and need to rush off early the next day. One shouldn’t sacrifice health even if instant food is the only thing that can cope with our busy schedules. Try out these overnight oats and make the best out of the health benefits that you can get from them.
