Every time I ask Kevin what he wants for Christmas, he mentions bluetooth speakers. I didn’t really understand what all the fuss was about these, so I decided to do a bit of research of my own before purchasing any.
My impression of bluetooth speakers was that they just, well, play sound around the room. Turns out I was wrong. Of course, that is their main purpose, and as Kevin listens to a lot of music, this is an important function. What I didn’t realise was how versatile they are.
I read an article on Bestseekers, which really identifies why bluetooth speakers are such a popular option. Many have built in, rechargeable batteries so they can be taken anywhere. They are small and portable, and many are even weather resistant – perfect for those BBQ’s in the summer where you suddenly get a light shower of rain! Bluetooth speakers are also great for sharing power, so if your phone or iPod is running low you can plug it in and recharge on the go.
But, they aren’t just for on the go. Some of the bluetooth speakers available at the moment are a real design feature – so not something you would just have out for listening to music, but something that could easily be out on display as a feature all the time. I think I might even end up using it for my computer too, it would definitely help the working hours go faster!
So, although I was struggling for ideas for Kevin this Christmas, I think a decent bluetooth speaker might be the answer. It would be a really worthwhile investment, and something we could all appreciate. I have visions of us using it for Christmas music next year, while we decorate the tree. Or even taking it on holiday to listen to some tunes by the pool?
