Are you missing the Saturday night Strictly Come Dancing? I know I am. Weekends just aren’t the same without it. Every year I tune into this show. I enjoy everything about it- the glitz and glamour, the music, the outfits and of course the dancing. Watching the celebrities transform from clumsy catastrophe to sultry salsa experts in a matter of weeks (well in some cases anyway), and cheering on the underdog. And every year, when the show finishes, I declare that this will be the year I go and watch the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour. Well this year, I mean it.
There is a fab line up this year. Hosted by Lisa Reilly (wasn’t she just great last year?!) the dancers on this show stopper of a tour include the winner from 2014 Abby Clancy as well as many of the other well loved dancers from this years show – Ben Cohen, Natalie Gumede and Susanna Reid. I loved Susanna, and was rooting for her to win – she was always so full of sunshine and put 100% into everything, so seeing her dance would be a joy.
On the 8th and 9th Februaury, this tour will be hitting London’s O2 arena, and I am determined I will be watching. London is a pretty long journey from deepest darkest Devon, so I think we may well make a weekend of it and stay the night – the London Bexley hotel looks a good option as it is so close to the venue and has some great family rooms on offer so we could make it a family trip – Gemma especially loves a bit of Strictly magic! Once the tour was over, I think we would head out for a bit of sightseeing too – the Royal Observatory and the Maritime Museum are close to the hotel too, and I know Jacob (and Daddy) would enjoy those.
We have never taken the children to London, and I think it is about time we did. The Strictly tour gives us a great excuse to get something in the diary and book the train.
What are your favourite things to see and do in London? Where would you recommend we check out?

I never watch this programme but I have friends that love it and wouldn’t miss it for the world.Take the kids to Hamleys,London eye may be a museum and a trip to M&M world.
Oh Hamleys – must do that one! Gemma is desparate to go on the London Eye, and I know Jacob would love the science museum too.
I haven’t watched this before. I love the sights in London, when I went down the back end of last year I did the Tourist Thing and saw the main sights, like Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. It’s great fun!
I think Buckingham Palace is a must-see, as is Big Ben.
