Review & giveaway: Bertie & Jack picture

Bertie & Jack

I only recently came across Bertie & Jack – but I fell in love with the site as soon as I saw it. Founded back in 2010, Bertie & Jack started as a market stall named after the owners little ones. They design and make an original range of cut-out artwork. The illustrations are cut from mount board and patterns and prints are then layered behind the cut-out shapes, which are also designed at Bertie & Jack. They were the first to create artwork in this way – where the shaped mount board is an integral part of the artwork.

I love this idea, and it really fits with the home decor we love – simple, clean lines and unique ideas.

We were recently sent the Elly Family print in the ‘Mums apron yellow’ design – a vintage style pattern that would fit with almost any decor. We currently have it displayed on a duck egg blue wall, but I think it would work equally well on cream, white, grey or yellow walls too.

The Elly Family shape itself features a group of elephants joined together by trunks and tails, and it has a real family friendly sense to it – a wonderful celebration of family love. I chose this print for the master bedroom, but it is also much loved by Gemma, and something she would very much like in her bedroom too. We might look to order another just for her, maybe in a different colour scheme to match her wall decor.

There are so many designs to choose from at Bertie & Jack, from animals and dinosaurs to typographic prints – something for everyone. You can choose the background colour and pattern too, as well as the frame size and colour – or choose an unframed print to mount yourself if you prefer. If you are giving it as a gift you can even add in a personal message which will be handwritten on the bottom left of the picture – a beautiful personal touch.
