National Teddy Bear Day | Win £100 Build-A-Bear voucher

Build-A-Bear

Build-A-Bear Workshop is celebrating National Teddy Bear Day this year with a limited edition teddy bear — available for only £5 and only in stores on the 9th September!

With 4 children in the house, teddy bears have been a feature for may years now. When Gemma was born we visited Build-A-Bear and chose her an elephant toy. A few years later when we expecting Jacob, we took Gemma with us to Build-A-Bear and she chose the toy for her new baby brother – a tiger. The theme continued with every child we had, and now all the children have a teddy toy on their beds every night. We have heaps of wooden, plastic and noisy play toys, but the bears are well loved, they are the ones the kids sleep with, the ones they choose to take with them if they ever stay away from home. You can’t cuddle a tractor!

National Teddy Bear Day

National Teddy Bear Day

We often have Teddy Bear picnics – especially in the summer holidays. It’s a lovely way to get some fresh air, enjoy eating outside and get the kids to try new foods – if Teddy loves something then the kids might give it a go too 😉

You can celebrate National Teddy Bear Day by visiting a Build-A-Bear store on the 9th September and grabbing your limited edition teddy. Two additional bears will also be available for £5 each: Lil’ Vanilla Bean Cub and Lil’ Hazelnut Cub. You can purchase a maximum of 5 £5 bears, while supplies last. For every £5 bear purchased in stores on National Teddy Bear Day, Build-A- Bear Workshop will donate one furry friend to Childhood First in the UK.  To find the store closest to you, visit the Build-A-Bear store locator

Join the celebrations online by following @BuildABear on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and share your favourite teddy bear and Build-A- Bear Workshop memories using #NationalTeddyBearDay all week long!

Family Fever are also celebrating National Teddy Bear Day with a giveaway – one lucky reader will receive a £100 Build-A-Bear gift voucher – just imagine how many lovely teddy friends you could buy with that!

Fun shine bear, I’ve had him since I was two, he use to go everywhere with me playgroup, school, parties holidays, his got a glue stain on his leg from crafts at school and is now old and tatty but sits on my bed now and my two know his mummy’s bear and old so. Be gentle with him. When I was young my mum use to have to take him from my bed when I was a sleep wash dry and return him as I hated being parted from me, he knows all my secrets and when I’m not well enemy now I have a cuddle with him

I had a little fluffy dog that I called woof that I received from an aunt when I was a toddler, I took him everywhere and by the time I was 6 he was so threadbare, his ear had fallen off. He still managed to survive and I had him until I was 11 when he got lost in a house move. Or that’s what my parents told me! 🙂

I wasn’t allowed pets so the closest thing to a pet was my teddy bear that was a dog.

I had a care bear that I adored. I still had it when I had my first child, so that was something special to pass on to my own children.

My favourite teddy bear as a child was Daisy. I got her when I was a baby, but didn’t really play with her until my grandma passed away. I was 5 years old and Daisy became a great comfort to me. She is still my favourite today and even comes to bed with me! 🙂 x
