National Teddy Bear Day | Win £100 Build-A-Bear voucher

Build-A-Bear

Build-A-Bear Workshop is celebrating National Teddy Bear Day this year with a limited edition teddy bear — available for only £5 and only in stores on the 9th September!

With 4 children in the house, teddy bears have been a feature for may years now. When Gemma was born we visited Build-A-Bear and chose her an elephant toy. A few years later when we expecting Jacob, we took Gemma with us to Build-A-Bear and she chose the toy for her new baby brother – a tiger. The theme continued with every child we had, and now all the children have a teddy toy on their beds every night. We have heaps of wooden, plastic and noisy play toys, but the bears are well loved, they are the ones the kids sleep with, the ones they choose to take with them if they ever stay away from home. You can’t cuddle a tractor!

National Teddy Bear Day

National Teddy Bear Day

We often have Teddy Bear picnics – especially in the summer holidays. It’s a lovely way to get some fresh air, enjoy eating outside and get the kids to try new foods – if Teddy loves something then the kids might give it a go too 😉

You can celebrate National Teddy Bear Day by visiting a Build-A-Bear store on the 9th September and grabbing your limited edition teddy. Two additional bears will also be available for £5 each: Lil’ Vanilla Bean Cub and Lil’ Hazelnut Cub. You can purchase a maximum of 5 £5 bears, while supplies last. For every £5 bear purchased in stores on National Teddy Bear Day, Build-A- Bear Workshop will donate one furry friend to Childhood First in the UK.  To find the store closest to you, visit the Build-A-Bear store locator

Join the celebrations online by following @BuildABear on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and share your favourite teddy bear and Build-A- Bear Workshop memories using #NationalTeddyBearDay all week long!

Family Fever are also celebrating National Teddy Bear Day with a giveaway – one lucky reader will receive a £100 Build-A-Bear gift voucher – just imagine how many lovely teddy friends you could buy with that!

I had a puppy dog soft toy when I was a little girl and I have shared it with my twin sister. We took our puppy everywhere. One day we lost him on our way to a holiday. I still miss him.

I don’t remember having a favorite teddy bear as a child. But I do have one now. My husband got it for me, and I sleep with it.

I did his name was Mr Growly as he growled when you tilted him. I still have him almost 50 years later, he still growls but one of his arms now lays in his lap as my DS pulled it off!

I had (and still have) a brown bear, I used to chew his ears so they’re really threadbare! He doesn’t have a name though 🙁

when i was little me and my sister were obsessed with the tv programme rainbow. My mum bought us a zippy and george. I had zippy and my sister george. I took him everywhere and naturally grew out of carrying him round and he ended up ina box in the loft. Recently my mum and dad moved and as we were going through the boxes, zippy appeared! He now sits on my drawers in my bedroom. Hes a bit battered and worn but ill never put him in a box again!
