Build-A-Bear Workshop is celebrating National Teddy Bear Day this year with a limited edition teddy bear — available for only £5 and only in stores on the 9th September!
With 4 children in the house, teddy bears have been a feature for may years now. When Gemma was born we visited Build-A-Bear and chose her an elephant toy. A few years later when we expecting Jacob, we took Gemma with us to Build-A-Bear and she chose the toy for her new baby brother – a tiger. The theme continued with every child we had, and now all the children have a teddy toy on their beds every night. We have heaps of wooden, plastic and noisy play toys, but the bears are well loved, they are the ones the kids sleep with, the ones they choose to take with them if they ever stay away from home. You can’t cuddle a tractor!
We often have Teddy Bear picnics – especially in the summer holidays. It’s a lovely way to get some fresh air, enjoy eating outside and get the kids to try new foods – if Teddy loves something then the kids might give it a go too 😉
You can celebrate National Teddy Bear Day by visiting a Build-A-Bear store on the 9th September and grabbing your limited edition teddy. Two additional bears will also be available for £5 each: Lil’ Vanilla Bean Cub and Lil’ Hazelnut Cub. You can purchase a maximum of 5 £5 bears, while supplies last. For every £5 bear purchased in stores on National Teddy Bear Day, Build-A- Bear Workshop will donate one furry friend to Childhood First in the UK. I had a yellow teddy, he is now threadbare but all my children played with him as well
i had a grey dog with floppy ears, and although he stopped being my comforter at 10, he still sat on my bed, and still does now even though im 28 🙂
I used to have a cuddly turtle from the ninja mutant turtles and I used to carry him everywhere with me!
I was mad on buying Forever Friends bears…but as the years have past I had to get rid of them. I saved one which is a limited edition Millennium bear. He’s boxed and covered in glitter & has a certificate with what number bear he was when he was made 🙂
I had Pengy who was originally my sisters’ he is wonderful and still to this day protects my bed!
I honestly do not remember a teddy; but I do remember a doll that I loved playing with called Sadie….. she was a rag body with plastic head, arms and legs. She was special to me
I don’t think I had a teddy bear, but my daughter has one and she loves him. She chose a very original name- Eddy the Teddy!

I had a red velvet dog for my 13th birthday off my dad. Over the years he has lost his eyes, due to my young nephew using it as a WWE opponent! The teddy still sleeps in my bed and she will be 16 on the 20th of Sept (tomorrow)

My Mum made me a Pooh Bear, which I still have and have given to my children to enjoy.
I have a teddy that my elder brother gave me (it belonged to him as a child) and since his death in Feb has become even more special . as fare as I know it doesn’t have a name but he is very well loved and even though he’s 50+ years old he still has lots of love to give
I had an elephant when I was little called Ellie – he went everywhere with me!

I used to take him everywhere with me, my nana had to sew his nose so many times from being dragged along the floor!

No I had a soft toy clown, everyone say it was scary but I lived it, it was called Coco
