Once your child starts nursery or school, head lice are almost inevitable at some stage. Although there are many different treatments on the market now, we have always found them to be a real pain – usually they are shampoos that have to be left on for a certain amount of time before being washed out. Quite frankly, some of the treatments stick to high heaven, and washing them out is like removing creosote. The chemicals stop normal shampoo from lathering up, meaning you can wash the hair over and over and over and still end up with a child who wakes up in the morning with their hair plastered to their head in a greasy, smelly mop.
We were recently sent some Hedrin Treat & Go – a new, no-fuss way to get rid of head lice and eggs. I was dubious at first – this is a spray that you apply to the hair, blow dry, and then leave over night, or all day. But actually? We were pleasantly surprised. The spray doesn’t have a chemically smell – in fact, it doesn’t really smell at all, especially after blow drying. The instructions tell you to rinse before washing out, and although it takes a couple of rinses, it does come out quite well, allowing you to add shampoo and lather up the hair afterwards.
Obviously, the ideal situation would be no head lice at all, and Hedrin Protect & Go Spray claims to help here. Simply apply to damp or dry hair, comb through and leave. Used regularly, at least twice a week, this conditioning spray works by killing lice before they can take hold. It left the kids hair really soft and silky, and since using it we have not had head lice in the house. Yes, it’s not the cheapest product out there, but if a couple of sprays a week can help keep head lice at bay, it could save a fortune on treatments!
If you fancy trying Hedrin for yourself, I have a giveaway for you. 2 people will each win a bundle containing a bottle of Hedrin Once treatment, and a bottle of Hedrin Protect & Go Spray.

I’m touching the biggest amount of wood. In 10 years we’ve yet to have them. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time xx
I have heard of this product but sounds ideal for the problem X #triedtested
We use this. These buggers have been a huge problem at my daughters’ school. It’s been awful. I’ve had to treat one of my daughters’ hair about 4 times since last September!

We had head lice last year. Was a nightmare. Took about 2 weeks to completely get rid of them as kept finding more in my daughter hair a few days after using the treatment. Anything that keeps them at bay is a bonus! #triedtested
Do the ingredients include tea tree oil? This is supposed to deter them. I’ve found in the past that good old conditioner and a nit comb has worked! #TriedTested
I used to hate having my hair treated when I was a kid. I’m thankful that we haven’t had to deal with it yet but I’m sure it’ll happen soon enough. Glad there’s a product that doesn’t have that smell! #TriedTested
God this brings back awful memories of having the horrible shampoo when I was younger! Unfortunately headlice are a fact of life with children. This product sounds like a definite improvement on previous treatments!

Hedrin is always a good product to have in the store cupboard.
I would love to win one of these bundles became daughter is starting nursery soon and I am terrified about nits. She rarely wears her hair up because just pulls the bobbles out.
I remember all the treatments smelling horrible when I was a kid but this one sounds pleasant and easy to apply.
