Build-A-Bear Workshop is celebrating National Teddy Bear Day this year with a limited edition teddy bear — available for only £5 and only in stores on the 9th September!
With 4 children in the house, teddy bears have been a feature for may years now. When Gemma was born we visited Build-A-Bear and chose her an elephant toy. A few years later when we expecting Jacob, we took Gemma with us to Build-A-Bear and she chose the toy for her new baby brother – a tiger. The theme continued with every child we had, and now all the children have a teddy toy on their beds every night. We have heaps of wooden, plastic and noisy play toys, but the bears are well loved, they are the ones the kids sleep with, the ones they choose to take with them if they ever stay away from home. You can’t cuddle a tractor!
We often have Teddy Bear picnics – especially in the summer holidays. It’s a lovely way to get some fresh air, enjoy eating outside and get the kids to try new foods – if Teddy loves something then the kids might give it a go too 😉
You can celebrate National Teddy Bear Day by visiting a Build-A-Bear store on the 9th September and grabbing your limited edition teddy. Two additional bears will also be available for £5 each: Lil’ Vanilla Bean Cub and Lil’ Hazelnut Cub. You can purchase a maximum of 5 £5 bears, while supplies last. For every £5 bear purchased in stores on National Teddy Bear Day, Build-A- Bear Workshop will donate one furry friend to Childhood First in the UK. i had a big teddy bear called Popcorn in the 70’s. Now my son has a little teddy bear also called Popcorn .

I didn’t have a favourite teddy as such until my dad brought home one from San Fransisco where he visited due to his work, I must have been around 5, still have that teddy now but I had my special doll that I carried everywhere with me x
i had a gummee bear, he went every where with me when i was a kid
I had a knitted bear. He was truly a reject – over long neck, needed repairs constantly, including a nose job = very poor nose work!! I named him ugly. I still have him!!
my favourite was a white teddy, and I still have him now 🙂
I had ‘Jingles’ bear. it had a rattle inside which made a lovely jingley sound.
I didn’t have one favourite, I was lucky enough to have a gang of teddies and they were all my faves!
