A lot of my friends play bingo, but it’s never been something I have taken part in – apart from the token fun bingo at holiday camps where you can win from a variety of prizes including bubble wands, baseball caps and a cuddly toy (said in a Brucie voice, sorry about that).
Anyway, I digress. I was recently offered the chance to review a new online bingo game from 888 ladies – Millionaire Genie. I registered on the site in a matter of minutes – it’s a simple case of putting in your email and a password, then logging in, where your credit will show in your account.
Off I set with my £5 to play, and clicked through to the Millionaire Genie page. It takes a good minute or two to load, but when it does, you know about it – make sure the volume on your PC is at an acceptable level as there is some rather jangly music.
I have to say, the game threw me a bit. Being on a bingo site, I expected it to be a bingo type game, but it is more like a fruit machine game to be honest. You choose how much to bet, and then spin – the intro tells you that three or more scatter symbols will see you as a winner, but I am still not really any the wiser as to what a scatter symbol actually is, or what exactly I would win should I spin a lucky round.
My £5 lasted about 3 or 4 minutes. I had a couple of teeny wins of 48p and 51p, but these went straight back into the game as they are clearly not worth holding on to. Within a few spins I was out of cash and left feeling a bit deflated in all honesty. The game rules are lacking, I didn’t really understand them, or how to win. It’s much more of a game of chance than I was expecting, and I would have preferred a classic bingo style game.
Would I play again? No. It’s not my sort of game at all, and I felt it was just chucking money at a screen, with no real skill or fun involved. I can see that others might find this much more enjoyable than I did, but it’s not something I would seek out again.
Do you play any online games? If so, then head over to the Which Bingo awards and vote for your favourite.
* I was provided with a £5 credit to play this game. I have also received financial compensation for writing this post, but all thoughts and opinions are my own*
I always stay away from these kind of games as I will just throw money at them. I love playing online poker though even if I do never win!!! x x x
