I am sure most of you with children will be familiar with the Octonauts. It is a popular viewing choice in this house, and has been for a few years now. We were recently sent the Octonauts Gup-R toy to try out. It includes a Kwazii figure, GUP-R, removable helmet and sailfish, and is suitable for use on both dry land, and in water. We’ve previously viewed a great review on their products on top9rated.com. It more than delivered on what we expected, sturdy and safe.

On ‘dry land’ the Octonauts toy was a hit with both Jacob and Max. Jacob enjoyed pulling the Gup-R along with the string – this is actually a rescue buoy which will shoot out from the hole in the front when you press down on the windscreen – but Jacob and Max enjoyed using it as a pull along toy too. Max loves the Kwazii figure – it is the perfect size for little hands, and he spends ages taking the helmet on and off.
In the bath, the Octonauts Gup-R is just as popular, with all 3 children. It floats really well, it can be pulled along and of course, they love to press the windscreen to release the rescue buoy which has so far been used to rescue sharks, Playmobil men and Kwazii himself. Jacob often comments on how the boat is the same shape as the sailfish, and then talks about the fish he saw on a recent trip to the aquarium – so it opens doors for discussions about all things sea related too!
It’s a toy that is reached for over and over again, and the fact that it can be used in or out of the bath makes it really good value. I can see it being used in the paddling pool over the summer months too!
This looks like such a cute toy – I love a pull along, even better one that goes in water too! x
