Labour of Love indeed!

I have recently been lucky enough to recieve a new ‘Labour of Love’ bag from HUDDLE AND BLISS.

The package arrived, and the first thing I was struck by was the quality of the actual bag itself. The design is called ‘Chloe’ and it’s a lovely black holdall style bag with white hearts and is very striking. It is made of a wipeable material, is fully lined inside and has interior pockets.
Inside the bag were the beautiful, tissue paper wrapped contents:

Contents for Mum-to-be

  • huddle & bliss Labour & Birthing Shirt in Black
  • Spa-style Slippers
  • Pure Cotton Pink Face Cloth
  • Pure Cotton Bath Towel 130cm x 68cm
  • Beginnings Natural Balancing Facial Mist
  • Beginnings Natural Hydrating Lip Balm

Contents for Baby

  • h&b Pure Cotton Newborn Sleepsuit
  • h&b Pure Cotton Newborn Bodysuit
  • h&b Pure Cotton Knotted Hat & Scratch Mittens
  • h&b Pure Cotton Swaddling Blanket in white 95cm x 75cm

The items are all packaged beautifully and you can tell it has been done with a lot of care and attention.
You are able to choose the colour of the bath towel (I went for pink to match the facecloth) and also of the baby items. For the bodysuit, I chose white and for the sleepsuit, hat, mitts and blanket I went for blue polka dot.

I unpacked everything to have a good look. The bag is surprisingly spacious. I intend to use this as my hospital bag, and was worried there wouldn’t be enough room for all the extra bits I would want to take, but it is deceptive! I also love the fact that it is wipeable, as babies can be messy! This would also make a great changing bag once baby has arrived.
The birthing shirt is pure, soft cotton so will be comfortable for delivery, or for wearing in hospital, and the addition of slippers means you will remain warm and comfy throughout your stay.
I also love the addition of face cloth and towel, as personally I like to have my own towels etc with me in hospital – especially new and fluffy ones!
The facial mist and lip balm are also great additions, as they will help me to remain clean and refreshed in the dry, warm hospital environment.

Then it was time to unpack the best bit – the baby items! They are again presented beautifully, all tied up with ribbon. Every item is super soft cotton and you can feel that it is well made, and good quality. I am intending to use these items as baby’s first outfit.

Overall, this is a well thought out, lovingly prepared bag, where every need is covered, and everything is prepared with attention to detail. It is obvious that a lot of research has been carried out into what mums really want and need in their hospital bag. The extra details such as the beautifully wrapped and ribboned items make you feel just a little bit special.
Many companies have offered pre-packed hospital bags, and they often cost a small fortune and contain items you may not require. This option is affordable, practical and offers you the luxury of customising to suit your tastes by changing the colours of some of the items.

The Huddle and Bliss pre packed Labour of Love bag is available in 4 designs (Chloe, Celine, Tia and Tallulah) and costs £105. You can also buy the bag on it’s own at a cost of £25 to pack at home yourself.

LOVED it! It was so much less stressful knowing everything I needed was in the bag, especially when Max made a surprise appearance!

I’ve been really slack packing my bag in the past – I like the idea of everything being ready. I also think the birthing shirt looks fab!
