Quick and Easy toddler recipes (Annabel Karmel) – review

Finding and making meals that your whole family, from the smallest member to the biggest, can be tricky! So I was over the moon when we were asked to take a look at the new book from Annabel Karmel – ‘Quick and Easy toddler recipes’.
Annabel Karmel is a HUGE influence in this house – both our older children were weaned using Annabel Karmel recipes, and we still use many of her family recipes now.

For those of you who don’t know about her (where have you been?!) Annabel is the UK’s best selling author of seventeen books on baby and children’s food and nutrition. She is an expert in devising tasty and nutritious meals for the whole family, which don’t require you to spend hours slaving away in the kitchen.

I was very excited when the book arrived, and although it is aimed towards toddler meals, I knew from experience that the recipes would be whole-family friendly.

After leafing through the whole book, we chose 2 recipes to try out first of all – Chicken and Vegetable stir-fry and Apple and Sultana muffins. The recipes are so easy to follow, and they really are quick (unlike some recipe books which offer ‘quick’ meals that actually involve hours of preparation), and they use ‘store cupboard ingredients’ – things most people have somewhere in their kitchen.

Easy to make, and very healthy and nutritious, you can see that the stir fry was a hit with everyone!

The stir fry was followed by the delicious apple and sultana muffins we had made earlier in the day
Again, a huge hit with everyone (because who doesn’t like cake?), especially daddy who went off with one in his lunchbox today.
This book contains a huge variety of recipes, and we look forward to trying them all out over time, and introducing Max to our favourites as he gets older and able to join in with the family meals.
