Today we had a really exciting day out. Devon is lucky enough to have a brand new, shiny air ambulance helicopter – and today it landed on a local school playing field for a public viewing.
Gemma and Jacob were terribly excited to see it coming down from the clouds and landing metres away from them. Once the propellers stopped, we were allowed to take a closer look!
My sister actually works for the air ambulance team, and so Gemma and Jacob were allowed access to the helicopter – to sit in it, look at all the controls and meet the pilot and crew. They gave the pilot some pictures they had drawn of the helicopter.
A really lovely day, and a chance to support the local air ambulance – the work they do is vital.
The children had a brilliant time, and have been talking about it all non-stop since we came home. Jacob announced at dinner time ‘When I am 17, I am going to be an air ambulance pilot’. What a great ambition to have 🙂
That’s a brilliant ambition! Looks like you had a great day!
How exciting!! Looks like it was a fun (and informative) day for all! Visiting from Friendly Friday and A Dish of Daily Life!
I bet all the kids went crazy for that helicopter! I love the colour of it – can’t miss it in the sky that’s for sure. Visiting via Friendly Friday from over at http://www.ritewhileucan.com
I’d love to see something like this
How wonderful, I bet they loved it #CountryKids
What a great community exercise – I’m sure it wasn’t only the children that were excited. How great that the kids managed to sit inside and have their photo taken – thanks for sharing with Country Kids.
My daughter would have gone crazy if she could have seen something like this. Wow! I am now following you from Friendly Friday blog hop.
