The ordinary things – football in the park

We like to get out and about as much as possible – but that doesn’t have to mean expensive days out or long car journeys. Our kids love a kick about in the park just as much!

Don’t be put off if the weather isn’t perfect either. Last Saturday was bright but cold, and the ground was wet from the rain the night before. All the better for sliding, tackling and diving…

Max just loves the freedom to be out the pushchair and run as far as he can in any direction. Jacob loves the chance to try out all the latest skills he has learnt at football club. Gemma just likes being with Daddy in the fresh air. Even the walk home afterwards can be fun – we sometimes stop at the shop for sweets, or we walk the long way past the house with chickens in the garden. If it’s been a cold one, we all head back for hot chocolate, if the weather is better we grab a quick lunch then carry on the game in the garden – this weekend we might start to plant some spring flowers.

The ordinary days are sometimes the most fun.

I know what you mean – he has grown up so fast but still seems small in that big field!

Oh, I agree. Sometimes fresh air needn’t involve long distances at all. One of our favourite things to do is walk down to the canal which is 10 minutes from our doorstep. Lovely park for a kick around 🙂

I do agree with you that ordinary days can be the most fun, a little fresh air and exercise and an ordinary day becomes a family fun day. with bosy there is nothing more relaxing than the safety of a park with a football. Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids.

Looks like they’re having good fun and just shows you don’t have to spend money to have fun. 🙂
