A guide to South West holiday resorts

Forget the Cancun, Costa Del Sol or The Canaries this summer, there is plenty to see and do in the South West of the UK. We love Cornwall and Devon because of the lovely beaches, great countryside and the fact it’s a lot cheaper and less hassle when you don’t have to book flights. Whether you love walking, like chilling on the beach or want to be a bit more active there is something for everyone in this, the warmest region of the UK. So if you are still planning your summer holiday, consider some of the following locations.

Penzance

Mount’s Bay and its beach is one of the major draws of Penzance. It’s picture postcard beauty has visitors coming back year after year with dramatic cliffs, coves, incredible sandy beaches and clear seas for all to see. There are also other quaint villages and towns to visit in and around the Land’s End peninsula.

Ilfracombe

The harbour town of Illfracombe is a jewel in the South West’s crown. Visitors love the laid back atmosphere and quirky charms. There is also plenty to do for the whole family with a great museum, aquarium and fishing, surfing and horse riding opportunities. There are also the fascinating tunnel beaches which were hand carved nearly 200 years ago and make for a fun day out as well as an educational activity. There’s plenty to get from this ‘curious coastal charm’.
