Review and giveaway: My Baby’s Name Is sleeping bag

My Baby's Name Is sleeping bag

We have always used baby sleeping bags for the children, right from birth through to the toddler years. There are a lot of different brands out there now offering these sleeping bags, so it can be hard to know which to go for.

One brand I have recently been introduced to is My Baby’s Name Is. Created in 2014, this company makes sleeping bags that combine a considered design approach with environmental material sourcing & manufacturing quality. Made in bright and beautiful colours to stimulate development, these sleeping bags ticked all the boxes for me.

We chose the Yasmine Yellow sleeping bag, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the colour – it is unisex, bright, funky and such a nice change from the pastels usually available for girls.

Each sleeping bag comes with a collar label where you can write your baby’s name, easy to fasten poppered shoulders, smooth zips with a fabric zip guard and a hidden zip end – all things that make the day to day use a lot more straightforward. There’s nothing worse than fighting with a zip and a wriggly baby.

The fabric itself is super soft and quilted, the sort of thing I would like to dive into myself. Made from cotton, both the outer and inner layer are gentle against newborn skin and perfect as part of a bedtime routine. The sleeping bag also washes well, keeping the shape and bright colour wash after wash.

My Baby’s Name Is sleeping bags are available in 1 tog or 2.5 tog and sizes 0-6 months, 6-18 months and 18-36 months. I like the wider age ranges as it means you don’t need to be buying a new sleeping bag every couple of months. There are poppers under the arms so that you can get a snug fit for smaller babies then un-pop them as your child grows.

Of course, the real question with a sleeping bag is how well it helps your baby to sleep! As Eliza is used to wearing a sleeping bag, she took to this one with no trouble at all, and seemed to be happy and comfortable while wearing it. There is plenty of freedom for her to move her arms and legs, and heaps of growing room – I can see her using this one well beyond 6 months.

We have become huge fans of the My Baby’s Name Is sleeping bag range. I love the softness of the material and the colour options available, as well as the sizing that allows for growth. But most of all, I love them because while Eliza was wearing it, this happened:
