Review & giveaway – Hotel Chocolat

Hotel Chocolat advent calendar

I am a big chocolate fan, that’s no secret. Every year I stare at the kids with barely disguised jealousy as they open their chocolate advent calendars every December morning, while I have to make to with a cup of tea and leftover toast crusts. Well not this year! This year the lovely people at Hotel Chocolat have heard of the plight of the busy mum, and have sent me one of their dark chocolate advent calendars to try out.

Now, it’s not Christmas quite yet and I don’t want to spoil the surprise, so I won’t tell you too much about it – but in essence you get 24 fabulous dark chocolate sculptures (you can choose a milk or white chocolate version if you prefer) including snowmen, penguins, reindeer and Christmas trees. The chocolate itself is smooth and creamy, and the pieces are just the right size for a sweet treat.

Hotel Chocolat have a great Christmas range which work well as gifts too – who wouldn’t want a chocolate treat under the tree? I have teamed up with them to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a Christmas goody bag containing:

Cookie Wreath studded with Florentines and biscuits; Coconut Snowballs; Billionaire’s Shortbread; Comet Does Caramel slab and a Christmas Duo of Nutmeg Praline and Christmas Mess. Worth £18, this would be an ideal present for someone special – or you could just wrap it up for yourself….. the choice is yours!

I love copious amounts of both wine and chocolate at Christmas (but don’t mind all of the cookies and cakes you seem to get as well).
