Sometimes I really struggle to choose gifts for people. Most people seem to have everything they need already, and it can be so hard to find unique present ideas, especially for people like parents and grandparents.
I was recently introduced to Tree2MyDoor, who offer ‘living gifts for lasting memories’. You simply choose a gift from the huge range of plants, trees and bushes, personalise the greeting if you want to, and send! There are all sorts of options to choose from – everything from fruit and citrus trees to nut plants and roses. Something for everyone.
I was sent a Magnolia Susan tree – a purple and red flowering tree, described as the perfect thing for adding a splash of colour to any garden.
The tree arrived in a large box, and was about 1 metre tall on delivery. It comes in it’s own sturdy pot, ready for you to plant out. It looked in very good condition when we unpacked it, despite it having been in transit – and after a good water, the leaves brightened up even further. Since then, it has continued to flourish, and although we haven’t had any flowers yet, I am looking forward to seeing them next spring. The Tree2MyDoor website has some great images so that you know what to expect when you buy:
This particular tree can be around 2-3 metres tall, but there are larger and smaller trees available on the website if you are after something different.
I absolutely love the idea of sending a tree or plant as a gift, especially for something such as a new baby or a Christening gift – you could watch the tree grow along with the child. I think that’s a little bit magical!
If you would like the chance to win a Magnolia Susan tree from Tree2MyDoor, simply enter via the rafflecopter form below – good luck!

I love roses because they look and smell beautiful in the garden.
I like freesia. not sure why they are one of my favourites, but I think they are a pretty flower.
I’m torn between a passionfruit vine or a cherry tree. Both give delicious fruit and gorgeous flowers!
My favourite flower is the lily, it is beautiful, yet I think I envision it as something strong and feminine too. The pale petals with the darker centre of the petals symbolises something to me
My favourite plant is a particular rose the was on the wall of my grandparents house which my uncle successfully propagated and now my Mum has one in her garden. It is a very old rose variety and means such a lot to the family,
I love flowers for sentimental reasons. My late Nana adored poppies, her whole house was covered in poppy decor . It was far, far too much, giant 3 foot faux poppies in a giant vase, curtains with red tops and poppy print all down the length, poppy placemats on her table, poppy saucers, cups, cutlery, poppy artwork on the walls, and then of course a bright red suite, even typing this is making me smile and I think of her whenever I see a poppy.
I also love lillies, my GG, who is 93 has had the same bunch of artificial lillies beside her chair for as long as I can remember, 20 years maybe? My mum also adores lillies and they are often in her house, so those two are my favourite, because they remind me of my loved ones.
