Christmas gift guide | Presents for Mum

I find shopping for my mum SO hard. Whenever you ask her what she wants she always replies with ‘nothing’, which isn’t really all that helpful. Thanks mum 😉

This year I have found a few great ideas for ‘mum’ gifts. One of the loveliest, and most unique, is The Donkey Sanctuary ‘Adopt a donkey’ scheme. We actually live very near one of their centres, and it’s a great (and free) place to visit. It means that my mum is able to visit her adopted donkey in real life, as well as receiving a lovely pack containing a certificate, photos and postcards of the donkey, and a membership card. You also receive bi-annual updates on your donkey, as well as being able to access all the latest news on social media. Costing just £2 a month, this is a really lovely gift idea, and something you can tailor to anyone, choosing the donkey that you think best suits them. I’m planning to adopt one for Gemma too, as part of her Christmas present – she will love being able to go and visit ‘her’ donkey!

For any mums who like to get creative in the kitchen, I can highly recommend the copper stone pans from JML Direct. With ultra non-stick technology and dynamic heat dispersion, these are the perfect accessory for any kitchen – and they look great to boot! I love the shiny copper outer which compliments the patterned stone interior, and the wooden handles finish off the look and keep your hands safe from heat when cooking. These pans are suitable for all types of hob, and are designed to be used without oil – making cooking healthier, faster and cheaper too! There are lots of kitchen accessories in this range, from frying pans to griddle pans and woks, so you really can build a lovely custom set.

If your mum likes to keep warm and cosy, then you can’t go wrong with this Saltrock knitted hooded cardigan. With a cable knit body and and fur lined hood, this lovely beige colour will go with just about anything. It’s fairly true to size, and SUPER warm. I started a cold day layering this over a long sleeved tshirt, but got so hot that I had to change to short sleeves underneath – it really does retain the heat well. The fur lined hood is super cosy when the wind is blowing, and I love the added toggles for that little bit of style. Comfortable, warm and stylish, this is an ideal gift for winter, and is such good quality you know it will last for years to come.
