Bump watch: 27 weeks

bump watch 27 weeks

27 weeks – according to my pregnancy app this is the start of the third trimester. Eeek – it’s getting closer, and with a planned C section booked at 39 weeks, this means no more than 12 weeks to go!

I am trying to get a bit more organised now. The pram is ready, the car seat is ready – and that’s it. We need to build the crib, wash the baby clothes, sort out some nappies, wipes and other essentials and I need to start thinking about packing my hospital bag. Having had 2 previous premature births, I want to be ready just in case this baby decides to join the party a bit early. I have a few bits that I have picked up when shopping – maternity pads, big knickers, pyjamas, breast pads. I need to sort out a few first size sleepsuits and vests for the baby, I need to pack a wash bag, and I need to find some comfortable clothes for me to wear post surgery. I think that’s about it!

At this stage in my last pregnancy I was on crutches and suffering with severe SPD. This time around I have certainly fared better so far, but I can feel twinges in my lower back and hips this week. I am praying it’s just ligament stretching and muscle pain rather than the return of pelvic problems.

I don’t think the bump has grown much more this week, but it’s hard to tell really. I feel huge! I have a midwife appointment on 6th April, and they will measure me then. I have always measured too big in all my previous pregnancies, so I suspect it will be the same this time round. I seem to make decent sized babies, and hold a lot of water! Before my next midwife appointment we also have a 4D bonding scan booked, and I can’t wait to see the little one again, and see how much they have grown. Watch out for pictures from that in next weeks update!

How exciting! Not long left to go and it sounds like you’re going to be more than ready when the time comes 🙂

Glad to hear this pregnancy is going more smoothly. Fingers crossed those pesky pelvic problems stay away!

    All the best!

Ahhh your bump is so round and neat 🙂 I hope the SPD keeps away completely and you continue to have a good pregnancy. I’m going to read through your past updates to see how you chose/ had to go for a section. I need to have a good think about mine and at the moment completely leaning towards a section,

You’re looking so well, I’m a teensy bit jealous! A 4D scan sounds amazing, I’ve never had one of those x

I’ve been sorting out baby clothes this week too and can’t for the life of me find the newborn vests! Typical! I hope the twinges go away. I’ve had a few this time round – too much toddler lifting but luckily its eased a bit. Good luck with the 4D scans x #MatenrityMondays

Wow, what a beautiful bump! You are so much more organised than I am – oops! I’m almost 32 weeks pregnant with baby number 2 and still don’t have a date for a c section – they must seriously drag their arses around here!

    You are glowing 🙂 #maternitymondays x
