I know I have said this a lot lately, but time really does fly, and Max is growing up far too fast. I can hardly believe he has been here with us for 2 months already, but equally we can no longer imagine life without Max in it.
I won’t pretend it has been an easy ride. It hasn’t. After his tough start in life, I was hoping things would be smooth going after that, but it hasn’t quite been like that. Since he came home, Max has been a very ‘sicky’ baby and he was diagnosed with reflux shortly after birth. He was put on various medications, and it was suggested that he may also be intolerant to cows milk protein. Doesn’t sound that big a deal for a baby who is breastfed right? Wrong! What it actually means is that mummy needs to eliminate dairy products from her diet – a lot easier said than done as there is dairy in many, many food products.
It has been trial and error, and I have found it tough going at times. I am starting to feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel, thanks to some very supportive friends and a strong social network support which has provided me with meal ideas, recipes and even insider tips on where to buy dairy free icecream and chocolate 🙂
Despite everything, Max is just amazing. He grows and changes every day, and this month bought us the first precious smiles.
He is such a cutie, loving that massive grin and well done Max on your awesome sleeping skills!
Awwww he is sooo cute!!! I know what you mean about wanting to stop time!
