The season of Halloween is upon us, and we have been busy preparing. The costumes have been dusted down and hung in the wardrobes, the cupboard is full of sweets ready for tomorrow nights trick-or-treaters and the pumpkins have been carved.
Gemma and Jacob spent a long time deciding on the look of their pumpkins – lots of designs were drawn and discarded before they settled on one.
Neither one of them wanted to get their hands inside and pull out the pumpkin seeds and flesh (wimps) so that was Daddy’s job.
After that excitement, the children helped Daddy draw the designs onto their pumpkins.
Then the real fun began – carving. Daddy did this job as sharp tools were involved, but Gemma and Jacob were watching closely, and were very good at shouting at Daddy if he went outside the lines!
They loved their pumpkins, and couldn’t wait to try them our to full effect!
The pumpkin flesh is currently bubbling away on the hob to make pumpkin soup (recipe coming soon)
Have you carved your pumpkins yet? Do you use the ‘insides’ to make anything yummy? Would love to hear from you!
aw loving there designs no pumpkin carving for me this year!
This is the 1st year we are doing anything for Halloween. Just for fun…the pumpkins are ready to be carved and the boys chose Peppe Pig Halloween cakes to make. They seem to prefer making the pre-mixed cakes….shame, as I love baking! Great pumpkin designs by the way!
Aw this adorable! Them pumpkins look really good!
