Did you know that today is Teddy Bear Picnic day? I didn’t – until House of Fraser got in touch to tell me all about it.
A teddy bear picnic is a great excuse to get outside, break away from the usual dinner table scenario and enjoy some fabulous family time. So today, I picked Gemma up from school and we headed home to set up a picnic tea with our new friend Cookie bear.
Setting up a teddy bear picnic is simple. You just need some picnic lovers (check), a picnic rug (check), a teddy (check) and some food (check)! Hooray! All set!
To enhance the picnic experience we were sent a Sainsburys gift card. I used this to buy some basic picnic must haves – bread and cheese for sandwiches, grapes, strawberries, crisps, breadsticks, some animal biscuits and apple juice. Gemma dug out her Bigjigs teaset and made sure that everyone had a cup of tea too 😉
Max loves Cookie bear. He settled down beside him on the rug, and shared his grapes.
Having a teddy bear picnic has been really good fun, and I have made a vow to eat outside more. We have a lovely little garden that catches the sun really easily, and we should definitely be making the most of it. The children loved setting up the picnic area, and even got Cookie bear involved, showing him how to lay out plates, pour juice and tidy away the rubbish afterwards. It was a very relaxed affair, with lots of chat about school and summer holiday plans, and again Cookie bear was involved in the decision making – he voted for a picnic in the woods in the holidays.
Have you had a teddy bear picnic this year? If not, I think you should – we loved ours!
I was sent a teddy and a Sainsburys gift card to help us with our teddy bear picnic, but all thoughts, opinions and ideas are my own.
Oh I love your picnic! We need to have picnics in the garden more often x
That is so cute! I had no idea it was Teddy Bear Picnic today!!
Loving the head band! 🙂
we love picnics … great minds as we called into sainsburys this week for their delish sausage and chorizo rolls 🙂
Such a great way to eat your lunch, a sure fire way to inspire role play for the children. Thanks for linking up and sharing the fun with Country Kids.
