With 4 children to cater for, we have had our fair share of organising childrens parties. We have used a variety of venues over the years, from soft play centres to outdoor activity areas, and have come up with a list of 5 favourites which are always a win with kids of all ages!
This is one of our favourite soft play centres, and we visit regularly for standard soft play fun, but they also do a range of great party packages. There are Bear Cub parties for the under 5’s, Bear Necessities parties for kids who just want the freedom to play with their friends, and Disco parties with play time, food and dancing.
This is literally on our doorstep, and as such is used by us pretty much every week. It is a 3.5 acre outdoor play area with slides, swings, climbing frames and zip wires as well as treehouses, a camp fire and endless wooded areas to explore. Parties here are very much free play centred, with access to the kitchen and hut for food, and there are usually plenty of toys laid on too – water guns featured heavily at the last party my son went to here!
A party a Paignton Zoo ensures a fun filled day for young and old. Get entry into the zoo for the whole day and enjoy a variety of fantastic party menus (cold food picnic in the indoor play area or a hot meal at the Island Restaurant) plus a party bag for each child. A free train ride is available too, and of course there are plenty of exciting animals to see!
Again, this is somewhere we visit a lot – I would describe it as a theme park for kids. There are 3 themed party packages. The Lost World of Atlantis is a VIP party where your group will have access to the park after it has closed for the day. The Buddy Bear party offers your little one a meet and greet with the park mascot, and the Fast Track party gives you fast track passes on the rides. All parties include a food deal, free vest tops for all the children and the birthday child goes free. A great one for the thrill seekers.
The Exeter tenpin bowling centre offers a great kids party deal – 2 games of bowling, dancing to party songs, a junior meal with unlimited squash and a birthday pin for the birthday boy or girl. They even provide you with invites to send out to friends and family. This has been a real winner with my daughter in the past and is suitable for children aged 4-12.
If you are stuck for party venues in your area, then take a look at Venuefinder for some great ideas where you live. Where do you like to go for birthday parties? Do you stick to the traditional soft play areas and community halls, or do you have a more exotic venue that you go back to time and again?
