For the first time in a long time, this weekend has been free of appointments, visits and things that need doing, and has been a lovely chance for us to spend some time together, just the 5 of us. Nothing too exciting happened, but just simple, family fun.
We went to the park and we fed the ducks. Even though it was a bit chilly, there were a couple of ducks out and about and they were very happy to see us with our bag of bread!
We went home and warmed up with hot chocolates and a biscuit.
We went to the supermarket and stocked up on food for a carpet picnic. It was the first time Max has been big enough to sit in the ‘proper’ trolley seat – and I think he liked it!
We all sat on the carpet on a picnic rug and ate our dinner, we watched a film and we played a few board games.
Perfect family fun. I couldn’t really ask for anything more. Further proof that children really do enjoy the simple things – and 2 more ticks on the winter bucket list.
