Do you need expensive days out to have fun? Course you don’t!

As much as we love days out, some weekends it just isn’t feasible – we have other things to do at home, and we can’t afford to be out and about every weekend. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t have fun at home!

This weekend has been fairly dry for us here, so the children have been out and about in the garden, making their own fun.

Gemma has taken her playdough in the garden, and set up her own cake shop on a garden stool:

While Gemma played in the garden, Jacob set up games of cricket and frisbee with his friends:

The children will quite happily play in this way for a long period of time – so it just goes to show, you don’t have to go miles and spend a fortune to entertain the kids. Just get outside, and have fun!

I love how children’s imagination works, they can have so much fun from so little. Expensive days out can be fun but it’s not them that they will remember when they are older, it’s the playing in the garden or with friends that will give them the best memories.

We don’t do days out all the time either! Sometimes children can be overstimulated! Days at home, outside can be just as good as you say! Gemma and Jacob certainly look happy.

I couldn’t agree more! Nature has it’s own playground for children to explore and be creative, whether it’s your own garden or a park, it’s guaranteed fun. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.

Having somewhere free and outdoors is great to make children understand that exciting play isn’t all about being entertained by expensive days out and toys.

Oh so true! I usually find the best days are those that are free and really quite random.
    I love the cake shop!
