8 tips to keep your bathroom organised

Have you ever noticed how much stuff accumulates in the bathroom? Our cleansing and beauty regimes require a fair few products; and we also need space to keep the bathroom cleaning products, towels and everything else. Does that mean we have to have a messy and disorganised bathroom, in order to keep it all in one room? Of course not! All we need is a bit of organisation and imagination. Here are 10 tips that will help you to organise your bathroom.

Tip 1: Don’t leave your cleaning products on the side or placed on the floor. Exposing them will make your bathroom look cluttered and disorganised. Hide your cleaning products in a cabinet or under your toilet or bath.

Tip 2: Make sure your furniture is clean and not looking shabby. If you need new bathroom furniture, you can order online at Ideal Standard. You’d be surprised how much this makes you want to keep your bathroom looking neat and organised.

Tip 3: Hang your towels. If your towels are all over the bathroom they can make the bathroom look extremely messy. Purchase a towel holder to keep your towels neat and tidy and to make space in your bathroom for other products. If you lack space, you could put the rod behind your door. It’s important to use the space you have efficiently to have an organised bathroom.

Tip 4: Obviously, draws are a good way to store items in the bathroom. But they can be just as cluttered if not organised in some way. Drawer dividers are a good way to store your beauty accessories in your bathroom. They allow you to segregate your items into different sections.

Tip 5: If you have a small bathroom, with minimal storage space, baskets can be useful. Placed in the corner of your bathroom, this can give your bathroom an eclectic, shabby chic, and more artistic look.

Tip 6: A great way of organising your bathroom is to get containers for your toiletries. Not only do they look smarter than the packaging your products came in orginally, it makes your bathroom look much more organised. Available from most homeware stores, you can even choose designs and colours that would fit in your bathroom’s interior, to add beauty to your bathroom and achieve an organised look.

Tip 7: A great technique I’ve seen on the World Wide Web is behind the cabinet door storage. On Buzzfeed, they have an example of ‘StickonPods’ that can hold things like nail polish, cotton buds, and toothbrushes.

Tip 8: If you’ve got some products that you’ve had for ages and not used, get rid of them. Go through your medicine cupboard and check the expiry dates of everything. You may find that you’ve got products in there from 2002 – they need to go straight in the bin, if so!  Making the effort to declutter your bathroom will help you to make more space for other items.
