30 weeks! The final stretch.
If all goes to plan, I have 9 weeks left. 9 weeks until I get to hold my baby in my arms. I cannot wait.
This week has been a fairly ordinary one. I had a routine midwife check last week, where I had bloods taken and anti-d and whooping cough jabs. I will get the blood results next week when I see her again. I was measured for the first time and as I expected I am measuring too large for my dates. I have been the same with the other 3, and have always had fairly large babies so I thought this one might be the same. At 29 weeks I was measuring 33cm. Because of my previous history I have been booked to see my midwife again at 31 weeks where I will be measured again and if I am still large for dates I may be referred for growth scans with my consultant.
I also had a real treat this week as I worked with a local photographer, Jade Nott photography on a maternity location shoot. We based ourselves in a local beauty spot and I had a lot of photos taken – some on my own and some with Kevin and the children. I will share the full review once all the photos are ready, but Jade did send me a sneaky peek:
I am really pleased with them – it’s lovely to have some pregnancy photos as I never really had any with the others, and as this is my last pregnancy I wanted something to look back on – you soon forget just how big your bump was!
Symptoms wise I am feeling OK. The doctor gave me a prescription for the heartburn which has really seemed to help, and so I have been managing to get more sleep. I have noticed my back starting to ache, which is to be expected at this stage and so I am making sure I sit properly, with my back supported. Getting comfortable in bed can be difficult – I can’t sleep well on my side as the bump seems to be in the way, and lying on my back doesn’t help my heartburn, so I am making a sort of ‘nest’ out of cushions just to feel comfortable enough to sleep.
I will be back next week with my 31 weeks update. If you would like to read my 29 weeks bump watch you can find that here.
Beautiful photo, I cant wait to see more. I cant believe how big we get, it is true we soon forget. Enjoy your last stretch.
