Anyone with school age children will experience head lice at some stage, and will know how horrible they are, and how difficult the treatments can be. Some of them smell awful, some of them are SO difficult to wash out and some of them leave a horrible greasy slick on the hair even after washing.
Lyclear shampoo claims to be as easy to use as a regular shampoo – I have heard this before, and have yet to find one that does what it claims. We set about using the Lyclear shampoo, following the instructions to the letter to see just how easy it was.
Step 1 – Check dry hair for headlice, using the enclosed fine toothed comb.
Step 2 – Apply Lyclear shampoo straight onto the dry hair, making sure you cover all the hair and scalp evenly. Massage in well from the roots to the tips – make sure you cover the areas behind the ears and at the back of the neck as this is where the pesky little critters like to hide!
Step 3 – Leave for 10 minutes, then add enough water to the hair to work up a foam. Wash and rinse hair thoroughly, making sure you rinse well.
Step 4 – While the hair is still wet, comb through with the Lyclear comb to remove dead lice and eggs.
Step 5 – Repeat after 7 days to make sure you get every last one!
And that’s it. Much more simple than other treatments we have tried before, and a whole lot easier to wash out too. No greasy residue left on the hair, and it doesn’t smell too bad either!
I will be keeping a bottle of this in my bathroom cabinet ready for the next time the horrid headlice visit!
* We were sent a bottle of the shampoo free of charge for the purpose of this review, but all thoughts and opinions are my own *
