Amber anklets review and giveaway

Amber anklets review

I have used amber a lot in the past – when Max was tiny and teeth were popping through an amber anklet was really helpful, eased his pain and combatted the excessive drooling. Since then, I have done a lot more reasearch into amber and the benefits it can have, and after reading that it could also be helpful for eczema I was keen to try. The lovely Amber Anklets sent me a couple of dark cherry anklets, and we popped them on, crossing our fingers that they relieved some of Max’s itchiness. Getting photos of his eczema is really difficult (he’s pretty wriggly) but it’s red, inflamed and sore and no amount of creams seem to fix it.

Eczema

The anklet measures in at 14cm and fits Max comfortably. Made from Baltic amber, the anklet is fitted with a screw clasp making it easy to take on and off when necessary, and is individually hand knotted for safety.

After 2 weeks, Max’s eczema is improved. I am not going to pretend it has gone away – I don’t think there is a magic cure, but the amber in combination with some Argan Oil (more on that soon) has definitely made the red patches less dry, more supple and less itchy. The amber anklet doesn’t bother Max at all – he isn’t really aware he has it on, and the benefits it is providing make it more than worth the £9.99 price tag.

We loved ours too but it was from a different company but it definitely helped the young ones teething – didn’t touch his eczema though.

I rather like the green colour, I haven’t really seen this before and its nice to find something a bit different. My middle daughter now 20 had terrible eczema as a child and we tried so many different things to try and ease it for her, she would scratch herself until she bled as a baby and we had to buy her special suits which covered the hands and stopped her getting at her skin. I never heard of these amber beads though then, I am intrigued to know how and why they are supposed to help. I now have a new cousin who has the same problem. If its any consolation my daughter has now got quite beautiful skin, although it still has a tendency to be dry she rarely gets any spots and cruised through the teenage years when all her friends were getting horrible break outs without any of their troubles.

I’d heard of these for teething but never for eczema. They do look good and glad they relieved Max a little x

I would probably choose the dark honey colour if I won.

Great review – it’s good to see that these are being hand knotted as I know a lot of similar products were recalled due to necklaces snapping and little amber beads going everywhere. I had never heard of them being useful for eczema before; maybe I should consider getting one for Lydia who is struggling both with teething and her eczema on the back of her knees, on & off.

These look brilliant! I have never tried amber and was a bit wary of them to be honest but have read alot of great reviews! I like the idea of an anklet better than a necklace for a little one as im a bit of a worrier. Can’t enter the comp as I don’t have facebook 🙁 but good luck everyone!
