Job hunting – making it easy.

Many of you will know that Kevin is an HGV driver – this means that he is away driving a lorry and sleeping in his cab from Monday-Friday every week. Sometimes it is hard with him being away all week, but jobs in transport are well paid, interesting and allow the driver to see the world! It’s by no means the worst job in the world, although the hours can be long!

Jobs in transport

The Transport & Logistics sector is not just a multi-billion pound industry; it is also what keeps British people and goods on the move. There are so many different types of transport jobs too – from day driving to tramping which is where the driver sleeps in the cab. You can haul a variety of goods too from parcels and pallets to milk and fuel. When we were looking at relocating to Lincolnshire, we used a variety of job search websites to see what driving jobs were available in the area. One of the sites that kept cropping up and seemed to be full of information was City Calling. Kevin was able to create a quick profile with his experience and qualification details, and was then sent a list of suitable jobs. It made our lives a lot easier – it meant we didn’t have to trawl the internet day after day.

There are lots of jobs that appeal to me – lots of things I would love to try out. I love the idea of becoming a midwife, or a paramedic. Definitely something medical. If and when the time comes, I would probably use a recruitment website – it saves a lot of time and hassle I think.

Are there any jobs that you would really like to do?

Hi Mo – it is basically a post that is written in collaboration with a company – a sponsored post.

My Dad started his career as a lorry driver and ended up with a fleet of them with his name on the side. My little nephew was very impressed that back in the day he knew the actual Eddie Stobart! I’m sure you’ll find the right path soon enough 🙂

As for me…I wish I’d been more ambitious when I was younger and made better use of my love of words and pictures. If i could work on the blog full time I would but it won’t pay the bills!

Wow – what a great story for your nephew to tell his friends!

I’d quite happily be unemployed to stay at home with my babies 🙂 Just wish we could afford to pay the bills! x

Yes, that’s the same as Kevin – it’s sometimes hard but you just get on with it!
