Max and Eliza have had the LeapFrog LeapStart 3D system since January, and its one of those items that never really gets packed away – it’s played with at least every couple of days, if not more. It’s so easy for the children to set up and use themselves, and perfect for those times when you need something to help them wind down a little bit.
We were recently sent two new activity books for the LeapStart 3D – ‘Around town with Paw Patrol’ and ‘Moonlight Hero Maths with PJ Masks’. These suited us down to the ground, as Max loves PJ Masks, and Eliza is a HUGE Paw Patrol fan.
The PJ Masks book focuses on maths for children aged 3-6 years. The popular nighttime heroes teaches skills for pre-school and school, such as early maths, measurement and geometry, as well as life skills like logic and critical thinking. Some activities have two levels so that kids can play and learn at the right level and move up once they’re ready. As you play, you can earn reward stickers for mastering activities and stick them on the My Rewards page.
Around Town with Paw Patrol is based in the well known Adventure Bay from the TV series. This book features everyones favourite pups, and introduces pre-school and early learning skills such as position words and maps, as well as including challenges and games which help to develop logic and problem solving skills. You can send Marshall to rescue someone at the beach, help Everest through a popcorn maze or guide Rubble and his tractor loader to clear the road.
The books and games are self explanatory, making them easy to get set up, and giving Max and Eliza some independence when playing. I love the fact there are two levels, so that they can work up through them at their own pace. The fact that they are learning as they play is a real bonus, and makes maths and reading fun!
You can find the LeapStart 3D and the activity books here. Most of the activity books are priced between £9 and £12, so offer really great value for money.
